Shun WuPhD Student Shun Wu Selected as a Finalist in the 2013 Emil Wolf Outstanding Student Paper Competition

The Optical Society has announced that Shun Wu, Ph.D. student of Dr. Kristan Corwin, has been selected as a finalist in the 2013 Emil Wolf Outstanding Student Paper Competition for her paper titled "Direct Stabilization of a Frequency Comb to a 12C2H2-filled Hollow-core Photonic Crystal Fiber".

The Emil Wolf Outstanding Student Paper Competition recognizes the innovation, research excellence and presentation skills of students presenting their work during the Frontiers in Optics conference. This competition is administered by the OSA Foundation and sponsored by Optics Communications published by Elsevier. Additional support has also been provided by the University of Rochester Physics Department, the Institute of Optics, and individual contributors.

The Emil Wolf Outstanding Student Paper Competition Review Committee will attend Shun Wu's presentation during the conference this week, and will select one winner per submission category. Each winner will receive a complimentary one-year OSA student membership, an award stipend of $300 USD and an award certificate.

All competition finalists will be recognized at the OSA Foundation Fellow's Luncheon on Tuesday, 8 October, 12pm-2pm.

Results of this competition will be announced after the conference.
