About the Physics Department

We provide a physics education based on student-centered teaching, cutting-edge research, outreach, and service

Learn More about Physics

Students who study physics are prepared for a multitude of careers because they are taught to analyze complex problems giving them a strong quantitative background that they can apply in science and technology, academic, government or private sector positions.

K-State's Physics department prepares our students by providing them the opportunity and encouragement to participate in paid positions conducting world-class research alongside our faculty in their extramural-funded laboratories at K-State and around the world, resulting in rich experiences leading to scholarly publications.

These talented students are successful competitors for prestigious national scholarships such as the Goldwater, Fulbright, McNair, and National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship.
