Bolton appointed to High Energy Physics Advisory Panel

Timothy BoltonTimothy Bolton, professor of physics, was recently appointed to a three-year term on the High Energy Physics Advisory Panel (HEPAP).

HEPAP provides advice and recommendations on the national High Energy Physics program to directors at the Department of Energy (DOE) and National Science Foundation (NSF). This encompasses theoretical and experimental high energy physics efforts to include periodic reviews of the program and recommended changes; advice on long-range program plans, priorities and strategies; and advice on recommended funding levels.

Approximately 12-18 experts in their fields are appointed to the panel by the Under Secretary for Science and Energy and the Director of the NSF.

Bolton received his PhD at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his BS at Stanford.
