Rolles Elected American Physical Society Fellow

AMO physicist selected for exceptional contributions to physics

Daniel Rolles

Professor Daniel Rolles has been honored as a 2024 Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS), a distinction bestowed upon less than 0.5% of its members annually by their peers. The recognition acknowledges his significant contributions to physics, particularly his groundbreaking research utilizing XUV and X-ray free-electron lasers to image ultrafast molecular reactions.
His work has advanced the understanding of how intense X-ray pulses interact with atoms and molecules. Professor Rolles conducts cutting-edge research in atomic, molecular, and optical physics at the James R. Macdonald Laboratory.
