102 Cardwell Hall or Zoom
This colloquium will introduce and summarize the recently reported results from the MicroBooNE collaboration. The collaboration includes many current and past K-Staters. The results comprise three independently conducted measurements of electron-neutrino interactions from the Fermilab Booster Neutrino Beam, and a search for neutrino-induced neutral current (NC) resonant ∆(1232) baryon production followed by decay to a nucleon and a single photon. All searches aimed to address the nature of the excess of low-energy interactions observed by the MiniBooNE collaboration. A significant part of the colloquium will be aimed at explaining the terms used above for those unfamiliar with the field.
